How can I purchase one of these fine droids?

Many of our most popular configurations can be found at any time on our droid vendor northeast of Theed in Tranquility, Naboo at -3427,5851 (Ahazi Galaxy). You can also send an in-game mail to Efon to request special orders or confirm availabilty.

How many droids can I own? How many can I have out at once?

You can have up to 5 droids in your datapad, but can only call one at a time. Unfortunately, this is true even for Master DEs. Rumor has it that the Devs may be working to allow more than one non-combat droid out at a time, but that is speculation at this point.

I bought a droid, now what?

Working with your droid is much like working with a pet, as described in the SWG manual on pgs. 140-143. After taming your droid from the deed in your inventory, you call him from the control panel in your datapad. Use the Program option on the radial menu to change commands, if desired, and to name your droid. Do not use the release or transfer commands, unless you want to get rid of your droid.

How do I name my new droid?

You rename your droid by changing at least four commands (using program function on radial) to have the name first. Droid names at this time must be one word with no spaces or numbers.

Click on your droid and select 'Program' on the radial menu. Select a command, and your droid should have a question mark appear over its head. Say a new command that corresponds to the old one, but with the name you want first, i.e. 'NiceDroid attack', 'NiceDroid follow', 'NiceDroid group', 'NiceDroid guard'.

After successfully changing the command, your droid will display a exclamation point. Changing 4 commands in that manner will change the name (your robot will say its new name with a ? to confirm). Keep in mind that you can now change the commands back to their original one word command now, or you will have to say the whole command with name each time.

Please note that, at this time, talking droids cannot be named.

How do I heal my droid?

Anyone can heal the white bar damage to a droid using a Droid Repair Kit, the most powerful of which is the Repair Kit D. Droids with the Droid Repair Module or Auto-Repair Module can also heal other droids. Droid wounds (black bar) must be healed by a Droid Engineer using a Reconstruction Kit.

Do droids die when incapacitated?

No. This was fixed with the 4 Sept 03 patch. Droids are now subject to a vitality loss with great damage, but are never killed permanently. See the notes on this patch for more details.

What does droid XXX do?

Aside from the Power Droid, which can recharge other droids, no droids currently have any inherent functions. All functionality is provided by adding accessory modules (medical, storage, data, crafting stations, repair). The droids differ iin number of modules they can hold (see droid page for details) and in their varying abilities to hold armor. Some advanced droids that use an advanced motive system can navigate terrain better than their less advanced counterparts.

The modules in my droid aren't working anymore, what's wrong?

As of the 10 Oct 03 patch, droids are no longer recharged when stored. The most common cause of losing module functionality is low power. If you give a command or attempt to use a droid's features and see a *Low Power* message over your droid, make sure you have a droid battery in your inventory and select "Recharge" on the droid's radial menu.

Crafting modules can also be affected by nearby droids or crafting stations. If you are not getting functionality from your droid's crafting module after verifying the power, store the droid and call it again in a different area. Also keep in mind that droids should not be built with multiple crafting stations.

I have a question not on this list, where do I turn?

SOE runs a pretty comprehensive knowledge base at http://soe.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/soe.cfg/php/enduser/entry.php. If you can't find an answer to your question there, e-mail Efon in-game (though I may not know the answer if SOE doesn't!).
